World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item Upgrader mod (securityholes.science) must be upgraded to blue before a component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and [empty] legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and [Redirect Only] Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for examplefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with fewer Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of an item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of how much it will increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it's possible that the item will be obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate possibility of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in a radius around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.

In the endgame you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced by using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs, you will need to place them on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Utilizing the Glyph can boost all nodes that are linked to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components inside them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different number of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing upgrade item Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item upgrader mod it is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own bonus. This can be a disadvantage in that it could make the item more expensive if you don't require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to do so. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, with a level 1 base and a different set of bonus bonuses. This can be useful, but should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the max roll by an increment of 10. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP, as the Best item upgrader version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The upgrader for items allows players to raise the level of their equipment (armor weapons, armor trinkets, and armor) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.

All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to revert back to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item upgrade might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the expenses mentioned above.
