World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Upgrades to gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. This is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that need to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can wear, since PvP is limited at lower levels. The average item level is listed on the character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item can help players compare the power of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a measure of the damage and quality. The level of an item can be used to compare items when examining a vendor's inventory.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an Item upgrader kit and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are many theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula which calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It is based on the fact that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl, which is typically close to the actual Blizzard item level.

However, this is not the only factor that can affect an item's ilvl as the level of the region the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an additional level to its crit rating or haste rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher value.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in various ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat mods of an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by the player's level.

The upgrades to items add by boosting certain stats on the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item upgrade with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times, at higher costs.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.

Presently, all affixes are able to be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button with the arrows that circle. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.

Players can upgrade an item with a specific stat, or reroll attaches. The possible ranges of stats for an item are based on the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within the range, unless it is an exclusive item or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.

This is another thing that could be changed by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. As with the base equipment, it would have to be done per item and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the possibility to obtain better gear in earlier waves and is thus more valuable in the early game than later ones since most players prefer more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability which increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, shields, and armor can be made or spawn with the Luck property, with a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to give +40 Luck or to boost the luck of an item up to 140.

Moreover, certain items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be used to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be expensive and not every upgrade item will be successful. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of completing the upgrade successfully and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The luck of an item can affect the success of an upgrade. Each item has a success rate of 25 percent and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects could be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, item upgrader Kit the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
