If you've ever wanted to get a robot vacuum, now's your chance. CNET's top models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday with savings of up to 57%.

The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with apps-based no-go zones. its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.

1. iRobot Roomba j7+

The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its most notable innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. It makes use of AI to detect objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first to automatically send you photos of an object it encounters so you can tell it to avoid it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we've ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills quickly and leaves no trace of it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. It can schedule cleanings, [Redirect-302] and also create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't vacuum in areas you don’t wish to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it by voice.

The design is also more appealing than the other models. It has a sleek, high-end piece that appears like toys rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. And the Clean Base automatic vacuum Dirt Disposal System self-empties, which is great to speed up cleaning.

In our tests, we found that the j7+ swiftly removed dust, dirt, and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brush roll kept the debris in one place rather than sending it scattering all over the floor washing robot. It even managed to catch small gravel and sand, which most other robots can't. It did all this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shedding.

The j7+, although not as intelligent as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and cannot clean the stairs, is an excellent choice for those who need both a vacuum and a mop. It's not expensive and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic vacuum cleaners cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's hard to determine if the update is actually functioning until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean floors, the best option is probably hybrid. This category of bots typically has a built-in water tank, meaning they can both vacuum and mop your house at the same time. These bots also have many additional features such as smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. They are expensive at full retail but often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock is one of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and although it's not equipped with some of the features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles such as table legs and walls which makes it a great choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is an area where cheaper robot vacuum cleaner for sale vacuums often be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation system is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.

Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled using a handful of buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. With the app you can begin and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map or re-label rooms.

If you decide to go with the Q5+ model, it ships with a new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's in place the process of emptying the bin is relatively simple. It also has an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when setting up schedules or altering settings. This isn't a necessity for most people but it will help you keep track of your robot's maintenance intervals easily.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design and features are some of the most advanced available however it's expensive.

The base station looks nice and hides it when not in use, and the dimensions are quite small. The main reason to buy the station is that it can automate many tasks, functions and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and [Redirect-302] heats the water (which many other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot clean and charged.

And its vacuuming is impressive and efficient, too. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that does a really good job of picking up debris on plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially in terms of navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robot vacuums. This means it could get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's also not able to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock that can create a clean zone for carpets that are soft.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who want an automated vacuum that can do it all.

If you're looking to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options available. Many eufy models cost substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and provides an identical experience on the app with more features, including stairs, a fully-function dock, and better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

Eufy, a Anker company, has a track record of producing robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpeted flooring, and mopping functions at a reasonable price. It's easy to set up, simply snap on one of the side brushes and turn it on, then plug in your charging dock. The app guides you through the steps needed to connect it to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock should be placed close to an outlet that has enough space to move.

The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact, which means it can be tucked away under sofas and other furniture with low clearance. Its design isn't as ostentatious in comparison to other models. It has a sleek black finish and three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs the area in a spiral fashion over two minutes) Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.

The way that the G30 cleans is what separates it from its rivals. It uses an integrated map to create an image of the unmovable objects in its path. It keeps track of the things it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. If it requires a recharge, it automatically returns to its base, and then resumes cleaning where it left off.

The elegant G30 isn't without its faults however. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower cost of operation. It is faster to charge, has similar battery life and performs better on unfinished flooring or carpet with a low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 however is less expensive and a lot more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't need emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating heavy materials like cereal.
